Hello, I’m Ken.
I started my career as a marketer, which makes my perspective a little bit different from many other Analytics consultants. I spent my formative years helping design and measure multichannel marketing campaigns, which gave me a certain level of empathy with my clients when I began working at an agency in 2013. Since then I’ve been fortunate enough to work with hundreds of brands.
I first began using Google’s new App + Web properties in late 2019, and I immediately recognized that many talented Analysts are going to have a difficult time migrating to Google Analytics for Firebase from Universal Analytics. To help with this, I began taking copious notes to document everything I had learned during my first implementation. When the pandemic hit in early 2020 I found myself with some unexpected free time, so I decided to publish these notes to this blog.
The objective of this blog is currently to provide Analysts with a resource for learning to use the new App + Web properties, but I will also cover related products where appropriate (such as BigQuery and Data Studio). I work very hard to keep this content updated as the products are improved, but please be understanding if you find items that are out of date.
If you have questions or concerns, the best way to reach me is by email or the Measure Slack. If I’m slow to respond it’s because one of the people pictured below is taking all my time.
